Villa delle Palme
Our history
Villa delle Palme is located in Villa di Gargano on a 1500 m2 property, directly on the western shore of Lake Garda. The property includes a villa, a guest house and a park with pool.
Built around 1900 by the Baretti banking family from Brescia, in the following decades the villa became a popular destination for important personalities from business, politics and culture. Among them were famous names such as the freedom hero Gabrielle d'Annunzio and the conducting legend Arturo Toscanini.
In 1943, numerous villas and palazzi were confiscated for government offices and ministries.
After the end of the war, in 1955 the villa came into the possession of a South Tyrolean architect who transformed it into a popular hotel.
Fascinated by the beautiful landscape, the Wall couple decided to buy a plot of land in the Gargnano area in 1965. On the recommendation of the painter Giambattista Terzi, the beautiful Villa delle Palme became the property of the Austrian industrialist Wall family. For the next few years, the villa has played an important role for the extended Wall family.
The third generation Wall had the villa renovated in 2013/2014 and by 2015 the first guests were able to stay in the villa. Since summer 2022, the Villa delle Palme has been registered as Locanda Lombardia and the hotel guests are lovingly pampered by Max Zanon and his team.
